Preface

What follows is not a book and not a manifesto. It is a working archive — writings, glossaries, fragments, adaptations — that I keep under the name WULD.

The positions worked out here are what they sound like: anti-natalism; metaphysical nihilism; structural pessimism; the calculus that suffering is the baseline and pleasure the removal of harm. Each is named in passing here and developed elsewhere — chiefly in Malgré Tout: A Guide to Nothingness (2026), which is the book this site exists in part to point to.

This is not introductory material. It is not designed to convert anyone. The intended reader has already done most of the work of arriving at positions like these on their own. If you arrived because you recognize something, you are probably reading correctly. If you arrived expecting an argument, the arguments live in the book; here, what is on offer is the record.

Some of what is collected — particularly the material drawn from Chapter IV of Malgré Tout — is not for everyone, and skipping it is not unreasonable. I do not flag these moments individually. The book’s own framing applies.

What is collected here is what I have kept.
