Definition

Etymology & register

Triadic compound: synapse (the neurological substrate of cognition) + syntax (the formal-linguistic structure cognition depends on) + lapse (a failure or gap). The compound names a failure-point where neurological substrate fails to support formal-linguistic continuity. Typographic intent: intentionally lowercase and hyphenated, pattern-matching w-holes.
